Sample work

See how I think before you hire me.

Every piece below was written for a fictional HVAC company, with notes on why it works. Your copy would be built the same way, around your customers, your offers and your town.

Sample 01 · Google search ad

Win the click before they scroll.

Someone searching "AC repair" is already sold on needing help. The only question is who. This ad answers it in one glance.

  • 01

Repeats what they typed. "AC repair" and "Olathe" tell them they're in the right place.

  • 02

"Upfront price" handles the #1 fear before they ever pick up the phone.

  • 03

Fits Google's character limits (30 per headline, 90 per description), so nothing gets cut off.

Your AC has been sitting in the yard since September. The first 90° day is a bad time to find out it won't turn on.

Book a spring tune-up before May 1 and we'll clean it, test it and catch the small stuff before it turns into a big repair bill. $89, and you'll get a straight answer on anything we find.

Sample 02 · Facebook & Instagram ad

Fill April before it's empty.

Nobody's searching for HVAC help in the spring, so you have to show up in their feed with a reason to act now.

  • 01

Opens with a picture they can see from their kitchen window: the AC unit they haven't thought about in months.

  • 02

A deadline gives them a reason to book this week instead of "someday."

  • 03

The price is in the ad, so the people who click are ready to book. Fewer tire-kickers.

Your Company Heating & Air Will your furnace make it to February? Fall safety check · $79

Most furnaces don't quit in October. They quit on the coldest night of the year, when they're working hardest and every HVAC company in town is booked solid.

A fall safety check catches the small stuff now: a worn igniter, a dirty flame sensor, a cracked heat exchanger that could leak carbon monoxide.

Book by Nov 15 · $79 (normally $129)

Sample 03 · Direct mail postcard

A fear they already have.

Postcards still work for HVAC, but only if they get read on the walk from the mailbox to the trash can.

  • 01

The front asks a question every homeowner with an older furnace has already wondered about.

  • 02

Specific parts (igniter, flame sensor, heat exchanger) make it sound like an expert, not an ad.

  • 03

A deadline plus real savings makes it worth calling this week.

Sample 04 · Maintenance plan email

Turn one repair into ten years.

A maintenance plan member is worth far more than a one-time repair, but most companies pitch it like an afterthought.

  • 01

Mentions the actual visit and the tech's name, so it reads like a personal note instead of a mass email.

  • 02

Sells the outcome first (no surprise bills), then lists what's included.

  • 03

One button, one decision. No links to the blog or the Facebook page.

Hi Linda, it's Mike from Your Company Heating & Air. Thanks for having Jake out today! If he took good care of you, would you leave us a quick Google review? It takes about 30 seconds and it really helps a local business like ours: g.page/r/yourco

Done! Jake was great 👍

Sample 05 · Review request text

Reviews on autopilot.

More reviews mean more calls. Most happy customers will leave one if you ask the right way at the right time.

  • 01

Sent the same day, while the house is cool and they're still happy.

  • 02

Uses the tech's name, so it feels personal and they're reviewing a person, not a company.

  • 03

"About 30 seconds" takes away the excuse before they can think of it.
